the Rules
× This is a literate/advanced forum. This means you have a good grasp of the English language, and are also capable of creating an interesting character or developing a plot. I do not want to see two pagraph posts that each have four or so sentences. If you want to throw that 'quality over quantity' thing at me, be my guest. In my experience, that is chorused by people who are either lazy, have short attention spans, or 7th graders who have enormous egos. Typically, good writing includes both of these things. You can't really have quality without quantity. Of course, don't think this means I want needless fluff from you guys. ...You will be hearing about those 7th graders again. I have quite the issue with them.
× Because you got past the first rule, I thus assume you are capable of coming up with your own writing. Do not steal anything from me or anyone else on this forum, I will not be happy, and I won't take it as flattery. I've had the Angelic Flight since I was an egotistical little 7th grader, and I'm very protective of them. Please, please, please do not use them anywhere else, I cannot tell you how many times I've come across people who apply to other forums with my idea, and I cannot tell you how many times a forum has had to go on lockdown because some disgruntled member copied and pasted a bit too much. Really now.
× Ask questions. Do not be shy. This plot is complicated and vague at the same time. Some areas are very restricted and others are very open. If you're uncertain about anything, be it the Angelic Flight hierarchy or the common hangouts of the gangs, it's better to ask around. I once had this one girl think that the XO was the highest ranking official in a military organization. Apparently she got it from Battlestar Galactica. ...No. It's definitely not. So please, ask.
× On that note, I would like to add no anime to this list thing. Please do not use your own picture or pictures of your friends, either. If you want to show off how purdy you are, be my guest, but it's really not too difficult to find a playby. If you need help, there are various modeling sites out there where you can literally point and click until you find one you like. ...Also, please do not use Alex Evans. I've seen him far too much, it's starting to kill me on the inside.
× I should have mentioned this sooner. Do not join as your character's name! Gasp, I know. Whenever a forum makes that a rule, things get a little hectic. C-Box names are different from psueodnyms and actual characters and just...bleck. Join as the name you want to be called, and fill out a new character biography for each new charrie you come up with. You can even stick links to those things in your siggy if you want, or just get a single tracker thread and link that...whatever. It doesn't matter to me, just don't join with your character's name. (If you are silly and do so anyway, just switch the display name.) But please note I still don't want to see SWEEtTHanng78. I mean an actual nickname, people.
× There is currently a limit to four characters per person. If you want, you can request permission to make another, but I don't see why you would. Honestly, most of the time people make more characters than they need because they either want to use a certain playby, came up with an awesome new personality trait, or want to plot with a certain character but can't for some reason. The playby excuse is silly, if you come up with a new trait, try to see what you can do to weave it into your CURRENT character (you'd be amazed at how more awesome they become, trust me), and the plot thing...seriously, the more drama the better. It's a forum, most of the stuff on here starts out a bit short-lived anyway. For instance, your character might be strongly against cheating -- do it anyway. n__n
× This is a mature site. Drugs, language, violence, sex -- it'll all be here. If you're scared about your virgin eyes, don't worry, members are required to put some form of notification in the topic or first post to warn lurkers. Also, if someone is uncomfortable with roleplaying something out, please respect their wishes and skim over it. You can say that it happened, of course, just be vague.
× Please try to stay a bit within the lines with the different groups. I made a ton of 'em for a reason, and I know they're a pain to read through (they were a pain to make), but chances are you'll find something that'll suit you. If you really can't fit something in perfectly, try to make it work. Like maybe some random gang member knows a lot about art 'cause they used to go to art school before they dropped out? Whatever. You get my point. Make things synchronize.
× Don't be shy. For some reason, I've found the more literate/advanced a forum is, the more reluctant people are to make drama. I don't know why, it's just like that, I swear. Your characters aren't static, they can change. Double agents, aspiring-military students, I want to see it all. Because of this, I'm going to be bitchy for a moment, and say if you are accepted you are to do the following: make a character biography, post a plot page thing, then go post on three other people's. Ahahaha. I'm horrible. "COMMUNICATION?! WHAT?!"
× Screw with the application. I judge on first impressions, and if you're just going to slap that thing up there I'm going to go 'ew'. Also, it is your responsibility to go back and edit it later on. You can take your RP sample off once you are accepted, blah blah blah, whatever you want. It's literally there to let people know who you are after you're accepted, so if I see you put a little work into it beforehand, I'll be more willing to accept you.
× The character biography template is there for all you people who absolutely need something to fill out. But in all honesty, I want diverse biographies. One can be in first person and the next can have spiffy headings for different sections and not have a history at all. Mess with it, make it pretty and your own, just like the application you made to join.
× Please be respectful to other members, & all the other typical rules that come along with that. God moding, powerplaying, mary/gary sues, all that fun stuff.
× Post in the CBox, please. Lurker members are cool and all, and you're welcome to primarily be one, but really...say hello once in a while.
× If you want to delete a character, ya gotta kill them. -cackles- Or make them move. I dunno. DRAMATIC EXIT. If you're too attached to your lovely to do anything bad to them, let someone else do it. If you don't want to do that, either, then you could talk to me about making them a canon so someone else can pick up where you left off. If a character isn't doing anything for you muse wise, that is no excuse, because then you can ask a reporter to put them in the obituary.
× You cannot post with a character (unless it is a sub-character) until you have made a character biography for it. You also cannot post in any of the roleplay areas until your introduction has been accepted.
Okay...done now, I think.
